Jason Talkington of the Jefferson Behavioral Health System speaks before the start of Saturday’s Red Ribbon Walk at Jim Wood Park in Steubenville. The annual event has become a centerpiece of Red Ribbon Week. It helps to raise awareness of drug problems, educate young people about the dangers of drug use and provides the community with resources available to family and friends who have been affected by addiction. Featured were activities for children, food trucks and the chance to meet with area law enforcement officials. It was coordinated by Jefferson County Common Pleas Judge Michelle Miller, who oversees the county’s drug court program.
