Route 7 lane closure set

STEUBENVILLE — A portion of the left lane of northbound state Route 7 will be closed between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday, according to public works Superintendent Robart Baird.

The closure will run from the south corporation limit to Washington Street each day.

Traffic will be maintained in the right lane throughout the work zone. Motorists are advised to slow down, exercise caution and be alert for traffic pattern changes.

No delays are anticipated.

The lane closure will allow crews to perform maintenance along the center median of the highway.

Special council meeting set

WELLSBURG — Wellsburg Council will hold a special meeting at 11 a.m. Friday at City Hall to consider cancelation of the city’s primary election.

It comes following the withdraw of Hunter Hamlin, one of the three candidates for a council seat representing the 3rd Ward and the only race that would have been a race in which a candidate would be eliminated before the general election.

Fair housing seminars set

STEUBENVILLE — Area residents with questions about fair housing rights and responsibilities as well as the fair housing complaint process can attend one of five free seminars beginning April 4.

The presentations, sponsored by the Fair Housing Practices Commission and the Ohio Valley Housing Center, are scheduled for:

• April 4: 1:45 p.m., Steubenville High School, 424 N. Fourth St., Work Force Real Estate Program, beginning at 1:45 p.m.

• April 8: 1 p.m., Island Creek Township Building, 437 township Road 375, Steubenville.

• April 12: 11 a.m., Quinn AME Memorial Church, 515 North St., Steubenville.

• April 15: 6:30 p.m., Sycamore Youth Center, 301 N. Fourth St., Steubenville.

• April 17: 5:30 p.m., Dillonvale Village Building, 135 School St., Dillonvale.
