Four face drug charges
STEUBENVILLE — Four people are facing drug charges after police raided homes in two Steubenville neighborhoods, Jefferson County Drug Task Force Commander Capt. Chris Vinci said Wednesday.
Vinci said Logan Smith, 21, of Chicago was charged with possessing drugs after detectives allegedly seized 29 grams of crack cocaine from a home at 631 Garrett Ave., Steubenville. A woman found at that location, Golden Dawson, 23, of Steubenville also faces a possession charge, he said.
Brian Benton, 42, of Steubenville was charged with possession of drugs after detectives allegedly seized 69 grams of methamphetamine from a home at 30 Scott St. in the Lewis Addition subdivision, Vinci said. A possession charge also is pending against Mary Baker, 23, no address listed.
The task force is comprised of members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Steubenville Police Department and Jefferson County Prosecutor’s office.
So far this year Vinci said the task force has executed eight search warrants and seized 545 grams of narcotics.
