SVTRA sets board meeting
STEUBENVILLE — Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority will hold its regular board meeting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Robert J. Cutri Modal Center.
Wintersville man faces charges
WINTERSVILLE — A Wintersville man is facing charges after a search of his residence Friday morning allegedly uncovered narcotics, Jefferson County Drug Task Force Commander Capt. John Lemal reports.
Lemal said Darnell J. Ellis, 26, 453 Canton Road, was taken into custody without incident and charged with felony possession of drugs. Detectives searching the residence seized crack cocaine and a gun, Lemal said.
The task force, comprised of members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Steubenville Police Department and the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office, was assisted by the Jefferson County Special Response Team and Wintersville Police Department.
Part of Bryden Road to be closed
STEUBENVILLE — A segment of Bryden Road between East Carlton Road and Lexington Drive will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, the city’s Public Works Department said
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.
The closure is necessary to allow tree removal in the designated work area.
Hancock County road closure set
NEW CUMBERLAND — A portion of Hancock County Route 12 (Shepherd Valley Road) will be closed, from milepost 0.0 to milepost 0.40, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday for road maintenance.
Motorists must use an alternate route. Suggested alternate routes include county Route 3 (Washington School Road) or Park and Forest 801 (Tomlinson Park Road.)
Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
