Tree dedication

It’s beginning to look a bit like Christmas in Weirton, where city officials gathered Wednesday afternoon to dedicate the official community Christmas tree in front of the Millsop Community Center. In August, Weirton Council allocated $75,000 toward the purchase of two artificial Christmas trees – one on display in front of the center and another in the city’s north end – to coincide with the holiday season and the annual Christmas on Main Street event on Nov. 23. Taking part were, from left, Ward 1 Councilman Tim Connell, Beth Fracasso and Ward 6 Councilman Enzo Fracasso, Mayor Harold Miller and Christine Miller, Assistant City Manager DeeAnn Pulliam, Brandy Brock, mayoral assistant, and City Clerk Kim Long. — Craig Howell
