Jefferson County commissioners praise achievements

The achievements of three Jefferson County Joint Vocational School students were recognized by the county commissioners during last Thursday’s meeting. Karlee Warren earned a gold ranking at this year’s FCCLA state competition and placed second in the early childhood education category, while Floyd Edmonds and Travis Rose will compete in the Health Occupations Students of America Future Health Professionals International Leadership conference. Edmonds plans to compete in the nurse assisting category after earning third place at the state HOSA event. Rose will attend Youngstown State University, and plans to pursue a master’s in health care administration. On hand for the recognition were, from left, Commissioners Eric Timmons and Tony Morelli, Warren, Edmonds and Commissioner Dave Maple. — Linda Harris
