STEUBENVILLE — A woman is dead and a suspect is in custody following a shooting on Darlington Avenue Thursday afternoon, City Police Chief Bill McCafferty confirmed.

The shooting “happened in a vehicle outside a residence” around 3:30 p.m., McCafferty said. The victim has yet to be identified.

Steubenville detectives and BCI are investigating, he said.
