Hancock County Oldtime Fair set for this weekend at Tomlinson Run State Park
NEW MANCHESTER – Area residents looking for some traditional games and entertainment will have such an opportunity with the Hancock County Oldtime Fair, set for Friday through Sunday at Tomlinson Run State Park.
The fair will be open 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with activities near the pool area of the park.
Admission to the fair is $1. Featured activities include childrens games throughout the weekend, local food and craft vendors and live performances, along with a bike night, beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, and a car show from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The bike night will include free admission to the fair for bikes and passengers, with a cost of $1 or a canned good donation for all others.
To register for the car show, there will be a charge of $5. Prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m.
The fair will feature an exhibit tent, with a variety of home-grown produce, flowers and more, as well as pies, breads, jellies, crafts, blankets, needlework, photographs and toys on display and for judging.
The New Manchester Volunteer Fire Department will be on hand throughout the fair, holding a stuff-the-truck event. Attendees are asked to consider donating a new, unopened toy or a monetary contribution. All proceeds will benefit Hancock County’s Shop with a Cop.
The entertainment lineup for the weekend will include Cartoon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Honky Tonkin from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, the students from Express Your Talent Dance and Performing Arts Studio at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and Keith Williams, from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.
There will be a childrens pet contest at noon Saturday.
