Homicide under investigation

STEUBENVILLE — City police are investigating a homicide at 1415 Euclid Avenue, Chief Bill McCafferty reports.

Police responded to the residence at 9:14 a.m. Tuesday to find the male shot, inside the residence, he said.

The investigation is continuing, and no further information was available, he said.

Two charged following collisions

A Steubenville woman and a Bradenton, Fla., man face charges following separate collisions in Brooke County.

Kimberly A. McClain, 53, of 549 Arden Ave., Steubenville, has been charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain control after allegedly striking three unoccupied parked vehicles in the 800 block of Main Street in Follansbee at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Ronald L. Post, 36, of Bradenton, has been charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, left of center, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and defective equipment.

According to a police report, a driver reported Post veered across the center lane of Cross Creek Road, striking his side mirror at about 1 a.m. Sunday.

The report said the man reported the collision as he followed Post on Cross Creek Road to Tent Church Road, after which Post turned around and returned to Cross Creek Road, where a sheriff’s deputy said he nearly struck her vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies in three vehicles said after they activated a siren and emergency lights, Post continued for about a quarter-mile before stopping.

Cases against McClain and Post are pending in Brooke County Magistrate Court.
