BDC expands management team, hires Keeney as assistant executive director
WEIRTON — The management team of the Business Development Corp. of the Northern Panhandle is growing.
The BDC on Monday announced the addition of Jacob Keeney as the organization’s new assistant executive director. Keeney has a background in environmental engineering and project management.
He has a master’s degree in environmental science and land management from Duquesne University, with advanced training in environmental remediation programs at the state and federal levels.
Marvin Six, executive director of the BDC, noted the economic development agency’s primary goal is to promote job creation through redevelopment.
“Due to the industrial history of our region, most of the properties we acquire for redevelopment have at least one environmental concern,” Six said. “Adding someone with the background and expertise of Jacob to our team will allow the BDC to accelerate our progress on existing projects as well as take on new challenges to create jobs throughout the region.”
Bill D’Alesio, chairman of the BDC’s board of directors, expressed excitement about the addition of Keeney to the organization’s team.
“Having someone with his environmental background and expertise in redevelopment will be a big advantage for the BDC in attracting new businesses and industry to the Northern Panhandle,” D’Alesio said.
