WVNCC ranked the most affordable
WHEELING — The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education has ranked West Virginia Northern Community College as one of the most affordable colleges in America. WVNCC was ranked the 83rd lowest net price among two-year colleges in the U.S. and the lowest net price in the state of West Virginia.
“We are proud to provide affordable education to the Upper Ohio Valley communities,” commented WVNCC President Dan Mosser. “In addition to being the most affordable option available, we pride ourselves in providing high quality education and training and an engaging experience for students, whether that is on campus or online.”
The net price is determined by the price of attendance minus grant and scholarship aid. WVNCC’s net price is $4,051, which is $3,243 below the national average of $7,294. The report also indicates that 82 percent of WVNCC students receive grant aid. Through West Virginia Invests residents of West Virginia, who qualify, can receive free tuition at WVNCC.
WVNCC classes for the fall semester start Aug. 24, and there is still time to register. Anyone interested in attending the New Martinsville, Weirton or Wheeling Campuses or online can apply online at www.wvncc.edu
