City man faces firearm charge
STEUBENVILLE — A Steubenville man has been charged with improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle following an incident on Saturday.
Nyjaun E.M. Robinson, 21,of 2427 Sunset Blvd., was arrested on the charge after a loaded handgun and ammunition were found in his vehicle, which police had stopped near Sunset Boulevard and Richland Avenue.
According to police reports,officers received reports of a man waving a firearm in an alley near the 700 block of Dock Street at about 5 p.m. before leaving the scene in a silver Ford.
Police said Robinson’s vehicle matched the description provided by witnesses. According to the reports, he admitted to having the weapon while on Dock Street but denied waving it.
Police said Robinson doesn’t possess a concealed carry permit. He is being held in the Northern Regional Jail, pending a court appearance today.
Alleged assault under investigation
STEUBENVILLE — A woman told City Police she was assaulted by several women while outside a business on South Street early Sunday.
The woman was treated at the scene by Steubenville ambulance staff for a bloody nose and mouth and other lacerations.
The incident is under investigation.
