Indian Creek distributing food
WINTERSVILLE — Food distribution sites have been set up for youth within the Indian Creek Local School District amid the current school closures, but they need not be students to participate in the program.
Superintendent T.C. Chappelear said breakfast and lunch items are now available at Indian Creek High School in Wintersville and Indian Creek Middle School in Mingo Junction from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. while deliveries will also be made to the Ridgewood Apartments on Two Ridge Road in Wintersville.
Children will receive grab-and-go bags, and Chappelear said several dozen people participated when the service began Tuesday.
“We fed 55 kids, and we hope people will continue to take advantage of that,” Chappelear said. “We are giving out lunch and a breakfast for the next day and encourage people to participate.”
Those visiting the high school site are asked to enter the cafeteria behind the building while those stopping at ICMS are to use the athletic entrance near the cafetorium. For information, contact the district office at (740) 264-3502.
