Pugliese West holds Father- Daughter Dance

STEUBENVILLE — Hearts were melting at Pugliese West Elementary at the third-annual Father-Daughter Dance. The dance was held on Thursday in honor of Valentine’s Day.

First-through-fourth grade girls were caught dancing on their father’s toes as teachers and staff volunteered their time just to enjoy the precious moments captured between father and daughter, according to event organizers.

Pugliese West officials said the event honors the bond between young girls and their knight and shining armor which could be fathers, uncles, brothers, grandfathers or other male role models.

The school’s Community Connections Committee hosted the Father-Daughter Dance.

“It is important to build healthy and strong relationships between fathers and daughters. This event teaches girls at an early age they should be valued and treated with respect,” Community Connection leader and third-grade-teacher Crystal Wicker said.

Guests were invited to share a night of dancing, cookies, a chocolate fountain, refreshments and photo booth opportunities to remember the special memories.
