Retail sales show increase

STEUBENVILLE — Gross sales in Jefferson County slightly increased in November compared to the same period last year.

Jefferson County Treasurer Raymond M. Agresta said gross sales for November totaled $73.03 million, generating $1,095,559 in piggyback sales tax revenue for the county. Agresta said piggyback sales tax receipts for November 2018 generated $1,091,835 based on gross sales of $72.78 million.

Monthly gross sales have averaged $75.05 million in 2019, compared to $68.47 million a month in 2018.

Fire district’s report available

WINTERSVILLE — The Seven Ranges Joint Fire District financial report for 2019 is complete, and has been filed with the state auditor’s office, according to a fire district official.

The report is available for inspection by calling the fiscal officer at (740) 264-7619.
