Traffic changes in Steubenville
STEUBENVILLE — Traffic in the city will be disrupted by two projects Wednesday.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, the westbound lanes of Market Street from Fourth Street to Commercial Alley will be closed to through traffic, and Commercial Alley from Market Street to the Dollar Tree store will be closed so crews can remove a leaking 12-inch water valve on Market Street and a non-functioning 6-inch valve on North Commercial Alley. The work, part of the valve and water line replacement project, will continue until completed.
Water will be shut off once the excavations are completed and the valves are ready for removal. When the work is done, a boil advisory will be in effect for the 400 and 500 blocks of Market Street.
Weather permitting, North Seventh Street from Logan Street to Ross Street will be closed to all through traffic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday for removal of a large tree. The work will resume at 8 a.m. Thursday, and the road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. Thursday.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
