Jefferson Behavioral Health System to hold ‘Fun Raiser’
MINGO JUNCTION — Jefferson Behavioral Health System will hold its inaugural “Fun Raiser” from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the large shelter at Aracoma Park.
Judy Ruckman, behavioral health system board member, said the event was organized to raise funds for indigent clients who have minimal insurance with high deductibles or copays or no insurance at all.
Ruckman said Jefferson Behavioral Health System is a nonprofit agency providing mental health and alcohol and drug addiction treatment and counseling services.
“In order to make a difference, we rely on the support of generous individuals and businesses in our community,” she said.
The village administration has donated the use of the shelter house and provided one-day pool passes.
Local businesses have donated prizes and auction items, including Pittsburgh and Cleveland professional sport teams. The event also will include food and music.
An Outstanding Community Partner award will be presented to Jefferson County Common Pleas Judge Michelle Miller for her drug court program.
Tickets for the event are $40 per person. Contact Ruckman at (740) 632-8670 for more information.
