Indian Creek students head back to school

WINTERSVILLE — Students in the Indian Creek Local School District will be heading back to school at the end of the month.

Grades fourth through high school will have their first day on Aug. 21. Students in second and third grades will begin on Aug. 23 and kindergarten and first start on Aug. 26.

Preschool students begin on Sept. 3.

Parents of second- and third-graders will be notified of pre-testing by mail. The pre-testing days will be Aug. 21 and 22. Testing for kindergarten and first will be Aug. 21, 22 and 23. Parents will be sent a letter giving them the date and time for their child.

Families of preschool students will receive notices as to when they are scheduled to meet the teachers prior to the first day of classes. The transportation director will in contact with families about busing as well.

Indian Creek Middle School will hold orientation for students from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 20. Schedules and supply lists can be picked up at that time.

Freshman orientation for the high school will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday. Students are to meet in the gym. New students in any grade are welcome to attend.

Students in grades 10, 11 and 12 will be able to pick up their schedules in the guidance office from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Cafeteria prices for 2019-20 will be elementary lunch $2.50, secondary lunch $2.75, milk 55 cents and reduced lunches will be $.40.

Both elementary schools will be offering free breakfast to all students. ICMS and ICHS ill offer breakfast for $1 or 30 cents reduced rate.
