Thanks to you

The Jefferson County Veterans Association said thank you Saturday to the men and women who have served and are serving in the nation’s military, hosting an afternoon of food, music and camaraderie at the Friendship Park fairgrounds. Frank Santa of Dillonvale, a Vietnam veteran, said about 100 veterans typically turn out for the annual event, which honors veterans of World War II, Korea, the Cold War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm to the present, pointing out it’s those veterans “who have kept this country free and safe, and they’re still doing it.” This year, attendees celebrated the American Legion’s 100th anniversary.
