Woman escapes from custody at Trinity West

STEUBENVILLE — Julia Jones, 38, of 2076 Eve Drive is facing several charges after two separate incidents on Sunday, City Police reported.

Police were called around 2:11 p.m. Sunday about a man being chased by a vehicle with several people inside. The officer met with the person being chased in the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue, who gave the officer a description of the vehicle. Police reported the vehicle was stopped by officers at Lawson Avenue and Orchard Street. Jones ran from the vehicle but she was quickly caught, police reported.

Jones, who was charged with a felony theft warrant, bench warrant and obstructing official business, suffered a seizure at the scene and was taken to Trinity Medical Center West, police reported.

A police hold was placed on Jones at the hospital.

Police reported officers were called to the hospital around 4:33 p.m. Sunday about Jones leaving the hospital.

Officers reported finding Jones on St. Charles Drive, dressed in a hospital gown with an IV still attached.

She was discharged from the hospital and taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where she faced an additional charge of escape.
