Volunteers help ‘Make It Shine’ in Beech Bottom

Volunteers are assisted by the Beech Bottom Girl Scout troop during the village’s Make It Shine event held Saturday. The West Virginia Make It Shine Program is a comprehensive program aimed at making the state the cleanest in the nation. Beech Bottom has been chosen as a Make It Shine community for the past 10 years. “In 2019, we were the grand prize winner for the state,” said Mayor Rebecca “Becky” Uhlly. “Community clean-up is just one of 12 categories that are judged for this award.”
