Home and Garden Show comes to Wheeling
WHEELING — Forget the snow and cold. It’s time to chase away the winter blues and head to WesBanco Arena this weekend for a glimpse of spring.
For decades, the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce has been planting seeds and sowing ideas during its annual Home and Garden Show.
This weekend will mark the 50th anniversary of the Chamber’s annual home and garden show slated for WesBanco Arena in downtown Wheeling.
Hours of the free three-day event are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Parking is plentiful in the intermodal parking garage as well as on the surrounding streets.
Each year, the Chamber’s Home and Garden Show works to bring some of the area’s best and most successful companies to the arena for an up-close look at the services and products each has to offer. From power equipment to landscaping, there will be something for all ages.
While the adults are perusing the wares of the vendors, there will be children’s workshops, balloon animals and sweet treats to keep the youngsters busy, said Mary Fahey, chamber spokeswoman.
“There will be companies that specialize in home improvement services with displays and will answer any questions you may have.
Also, we have many new demonstrations that will be taking place throughout the show along with our annual crowd-pleasing favorites.
There will be something for everyone, adults and children alike,” Fahey said.
Among the booths set up around the main floor will be other services including decorating, remodeling, flooring, windows, indoor/outdoor furniture, kitchen, landscaping, confections, as well as martial arts and tools. There will be local crafters and food vendors around the arena as well.
Whether you are looking to build a house, purchase new windows or finance a remodeling project, chances are you can find some great information at the home and garden show, officials said. Lowe’s employees will be demonstrating Craftsmen Tools and Kennedy Hardware folks will be showing off their latest equipment.
This year’s main sponsors include DeNoon Lumber, A.D. Baker Homes and WTOV-TV.
