City man arrested after chase

STEUBENVILLE — A chase which began in Martins Ferry ended off of Sunset Boulevard with a city man being arrested.

The chase began around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday involving a Martins Ferry police cruiser. The chase began after Martin’s Ferry police responded to a reported domestic incident.

The chase continued north on state Route 7 and into the city.

Police reported the pursuit ended on Braybarton Boulevard, when the driver, identified as Maurice Hines, 31, of Steubenville, took off running. Police reported he was apprehended in the 2600 block of Whitehaven Boulevard.

Hines was taken to Trinity Medical Center West for treatment of a reported injury. He then was turned over to Martins Ferry Police.

Hines did have a probation violation warrant out of Toronto county court.
