Steubenville Kroger to build Starbucks shop

STEUBENVILLE — The Kroger store in the Hollywood City Center soon will be home to a Starbucks coffee shop and a Murray’s specialty cheese shop.

Kroger spokeswoman Jennifer Jarrell confirmed information on a city building permit indicating the relocation of the liquor store and reconfiguring of the store to include the Starbucks and a seating area.

She said decor and lighting will be updated throughout the store, and new cases and tables will merchandise fresh bakery and deli offerings.

Customers began noting changes in recent days, as items are being relocated and shelving moved or removed.

New fixtures and flooring will be part of the remodeling. The relocation of the liquor store is said to improve ease of shopping.

The construction project is to be completed during the summer.

The Kroger location at Hollywood opened in the early 1960s and has undergone relocations and expansions several times within the shopping plaza.
