Community Night event slated

Driving tickets available for Pittsburgh Pirates vs. San Diego Padres

STEUBENVILLE — Only driving tickets remain for Ohio Valley residents interested in enjoying an evening of Major League Baseball and good music on Aug. 4 when the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the San Diego Padres.

The final Herald-Star and Weirton Daily Times Pirates Community Night event of the season gets under way that day at 7:05 p.m. at PNC Park.

The newspapers’ Pirates Fan Club is sponsoring the event.

The cost of a ticket, for those planning to drive to PNC Park, is $50 and includes an outfield box seat, with a $10 loaded value on the ticket, which can be used for food or souvenirs. The event includes a Fan Jam postgame concert featuring the rock group Chicago immediately following the game.

No refunds will be available.

“The bus tickets have sold out, and only driving tickets remain,” said Cindy Kotsch, the events coordinator for the newspapers. “It will be a great night of baseball and music.”

The community day events with the Pirates at PNC Park have been popular for many years.

“We have people who have gone to games with us every year, and we have done four of these community night events this year, with this being our final event of this summer season,” Kotsch noted.
