Monthly car

show planned

STEUBNEVILLE — The Fort Steuben Street Roders will host a monthly car show at Treat Frozen Yogurt & Desserts on the second Thursday of each month through October beginning today.

The shows at the Hollywood Plaza-based business will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Treats will feature grilled hot dogs with all the fixings, chips and snacks along with its regular menu of frozen yogurt, ice cream, smoothies, milkshakes and a toppings bar where customers can create their own sundaes.

Man sentenced in

gun, drug case

STEUBENVILLE — Carlston R. Dudley Jr., 37, of 612 N. Fifth St. was sentenced Monday by Jefferson County Common Pleas Court Judge Joseph Bruzzese Jr. to two years in prison after Dudley pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon, having a weapon under disability and possession of drugs.

Officers were called around 1:05 a.m. on March 2 to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue about an intoxicated man and found Dudley. Police reported there was a bench warrant for Dudley, and an officer took him into custody. An officer reported finding a loaded handgun in Dudley’s clothing.

Police took Dudley to Trinity Medical Center West to get checked due to intoxication.

While Dudley was getting off the examination table, a bag of cocaine fell out of his pocket and another bag of cocaine was discovered in his clothing, police reported.

Mingo Junction man

violates probation

STEUBENVILLE — Daniel Doty, 22, of Mingo Junction was sentenced to 10 months in prison on Monday by Jefferson County Common Pleas Court Judge Joseph Bruzzese Jr. after Doty admitted to a probation violation.

Doty was sentenced on Nov. 16 by Bruzzese to two years of probation after Doty pleaded guilty to burglary.

A probation revocation was filed after Doty failed to report to his probation officer and absconded from the county.

State Route 7

traffic restricted

BRILLIANT — Traffic delays are expected to continue through Wednesday on state Route 7 southbound north of Brilliant at the ongoing hillside repair project, the Ohio Department of Transportation reported.

Traffic is being stopped weekdays in the southbound lane only between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. north of Brilliant in 15-minute intervals for removal of the catchment wall, according to ODOT officials.

Officials urge motorists to plan ahead and use an alternate route to avoid delays.

Revitalization group

to meet Monday

STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville Revitalization Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Froehlich’s Classic Corner Restaurant.
