Money matters: A Lincoln Avenue woman claimed that after her tax refund came in her father snatched the money card out of her hand, Wednesday. She said her mother talked him into giving it back to her but they continued arguing over how she would spend it, claiming fisticuffs erupted after he snatched it out of her jacket pocket. She claims her father “struck her several times before chasing her out of his residence and locking the door” and then left the residence himself. She demanded her money card as well as her daughter, who was still inside the residence. The woman’s mother and sister told police they agreed with her father holding onto the card so she wouldn’t blow the money “buying bad things.” The mother said her daughter struck her husband after they’d argued about her being irresponsible with money and after he threw her out of the house she “proceeded to kick the door and destroy outside decorations.” She said she doesn’t think her daughter has been taking her medications and is back under the influence of drugs and feared for her grandchild’s safety if she took her out of their home. After getting a written statement from the woman police said she complained “of pain in her face” though they noted they did not see any sign she’d been injured.
