Arrested: Shawn M. Maderia, 41, 203 Lee Road, Follansbee, possession of a controlled substance, July 21; Aaron W. Lambert, Apartment 1, 100 Spruce St., Follansbee, driving while license suspended for driving under the influence and driving under the influence, Thursday; Nichole R. Carnes, 31, Apartment C5, Blue Ridge Manor, Wellsburg, on a Hancock County warrant for grand larceny, Friday.

Arrested: Tammy L. Moffo, 58, 1700 Blosser Lane, Follansbee, domestic battery, Friday; Chelsea L. Metz, 28, 1111 Neville St., Follansbee, no operator’s license or proof of insurance and improper registration, Sunday; James R. Clemens, 44, 303 Washington Pike, Wellsburg, possession of a controlled substance, Sunday.

Steubenville police

Live and learn: A North Sixth St. resident said she was trying to be nice when she let her ex come to her place Sunday to get his belongings, but when she wasn’t looking, he robbed her. She said he stole two phones, her bank card, her WIC card, her food stamp card, an ID card and her cash app card when she ran to a friend’s apartment.

Accident: A Sherman Avenue resident said a man put his arm through her front window, trying to break his fall, Sunday. When they arrived on scene police said the man was in the roadway and the woman was holding a towel to his bleeding arm. She said the man had lost his balance and fell on her porch.

Mean girls: Girls in the 800 block of Market Street are sending nasty and threatening messages to another girl, and when a woman told the girls she was done with them bothering her child she said a short while later “an unknown adult female came to her door” and threatened to shoot her. She said the woman told her she is “armed within her home” and will protect her family.

Tempted: A woman who left $400 in cash and a check for $639 in her glove compartment told police both were removed overnight from her car, Sunday.

Surprise: A Park Street resident who threatened to throw his wife’s possessions out if her things aren’t out of the house in three days was told he’d have to go through the eviction process first, Sunday.

Booked: Joshua A. Oberholtzer, 35, Kennelworth Ave., Toronto, petit theft, Sunday, Walmart Employees allege Oberholtzer tried to leave the store without paying for merchandise valued at $164.

Cited: Angela Sadler, 51, 818 North Eighth St., Steubenville, dog at large.

Booked: Brandon M. McLaughlin, 40, 525 Clinton St., Steubenville, was charged with domestic violence Monday after he allegedly struck his girlfriend in the face, leaving her with a lacerated lip. She said he was drunk. McLaughlin claimed his girlfriend was drunk and attacked him, but officers said he had no visible injuries and also observed him to be intoxicated and unsteady on his feet. Also Monday, McLaughlin was cited for operating a vehicle impaired, failure to control/weaving, hit-skip, driving left of center and possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly striking multiple vehicles parked on Lawson Avenue, police said.

Arrested: Ryan S. Wilson, 28, 504 Ohio St., Steubenville, was charged with retaliation and a probation violation and cited for disorderly conduct in the emergency room, Monday. Police responding to a report of a male passed out in a vehicle allege they found Wilson with his foot on the brake while it was still in drive. Later in the shift, police were called to Trinity where staff members said he was yelling and refusing to quiet when asked. He allegedly yelled profanities and threats at the arresting officer as he was removed from the hospital.

Drug issues: A Plum Street resident who was sweating profusely and his face appeared irritated from rubbing Monday told police he’d taken crystal meth. He said he’d been hallucinating since he swallowed the meth but refused medical treatment, police noted.

Charged: De’Angelo Gaskins, 24, 1434 Oakgrove Ave., Steubenville, was charged with assault and resisting arrest, Monday. Gaskins allegedly took some pills that caused him to hallucinate and reportedly beat his girlfriend several times over a two-day period, police were told. She sustained two black eyes, a cut on her nose and had blood coming from her mouth after the first assault, and was punched and slapped before allegedly being thrown down a set of basement stairs, police said.

Enough already: Callers reported a drunk man going door-to-door in the vicinity of Pine Valley Drive asking to use a phone, Monday. The man told police he was trying to get a ride to Adena, but when police offered to take him to a gas station so he could call for a ride he refused, saying he would “just keep walking.” He was told by police he needed to stop knocking on doors.

Accident: A woman driving through the parking lot near Planet Fitness said a driver backed out of his parking space Monday and into her vehicle but wouldn’t give her his insurance information. She said he got out to look at the damage then got back in his white, four-door car and left the scene. She said he had a female with him, and both were in their late teens or early 20s.

Cited: Lloyd B. Williams, 59, 707 Market St., Apt. 409, Steubenville, was charged with public intoxication after he and another tenant allegedly argued because she refused to give or sell him a cigarette. The two exchanged profanities and racial slurs, police said. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and said he attempted to leave several times while they were speaking to him. The woman said another female had slapped her in the face but left the scene.

Booked: Marissa Marie Park-Smith, 24, 139 Floyd St., Wintersville, possession of drugs, Monday; Deborah Miles, 32, 605 McDowell Ave., Steubenville, operating a vehicle impaired, Monday.

Broken: A Murphy Avenue woman told police an individual she knew followed her while she was out on a walk and when she got home, picked up a vase and shattered it, Monday.

Hit: A vehicle parked in the 300 block of Henry Avenue was struck by a hit-and-run driver, Monday. The left front quarter panel was damaged, police said.

Cited: Elise McIntyre, 67, 91 township Road, Toronto, no operator’s license and a stop sign violation after a motor vehicle accident at McDowell and Ridge avenues; Robert W. Dailey Jr., 58, Township Road 371, Toronto, failure to control after he allegedly struck a vehicle parked in the 300 block of South Fifth Street, causing it to strike a second parked vehicle.

Booked: Devin Michael Fetty, 21, 408 Heiland Ave., Yorkville, possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, probation violation and a failure to appear warrant out of Belmont County, Monday.
