Bothered: A Richmond woman insists her neighbor continues to harass her, Monday. She said she got on her mule April 30 and the brakes were completely out, then got on her backhoe Sunday and when she went to turn the seat it wouldn’t. She said a screw was put in the seat to prevent it from moving. She assumes her neighbor was responsible for both items, but said her camera was off so she can’t prove anything.

Witnessed: A Tiltonsville teen told a dispatcher she’d seen her mother get hit in the face, Monday. When they spoke with the mother, she said everything was fine but refused to answer any questions so a deputy was dispatched to talk to her in person. The mother told the deputies she’d been arguing with her boyfriend and he pushed her and she fell to the floor, so he left. She denied being slapped.

Scammed: A Richmond man was conned into buying $1,000 in Best Buy gift cards to pay for a car he found on Craigslist, Monday. Once he and the purported seller agreed on a price, he was told the sale would have to be processed through E-Bay Motors. He told deputies he got an e-mail from E-Bay Motors instructing him to buy gift cards, but said he understood the money wouldn’t go on the cards until the vehicle was delivered. After he paid, he said he got another e-mail from E-Bay Motors telling him to buy two more $500 cards to cover insurance, so he said he called Best Buy and found out the gift cards had already been used at a Best Buy in New Hampshire.

Steubenville police

Intoxicated: Callers reported an intoxicated male falling and screaming profanities outside Kroger, Monday. Officers said the man was highly intoxicated and unable to stand on his own and had damaged several potted plants and hanging baskets when he fell. They said the store did not want to press charges, but they do want the man banned from their property because it’s not the first time he’s done it.

Bumper cars: A woman told police she thought someone hit her car but couldn’t remember where it happened, Monday. She told police she kept driving after the impact, not stopping until her car broke down on the sidewalk in front of Federico’s. She told officers all she remembers was she thought a car came left of center and clipped her car, then she veered off the road. Police said the vehicle, which was towed, had minor damage to the front bumper.

Fired up: A vehicle parked in the 400 block of Highland Avenue was vandalized, Tuesday. The owner said he found fire damage to the driver’s side interior. A window and the tail lights also were shattered.

Booked: Jeffrey A. Delucas, 64, no fixed address, public intoxication, Monday.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners of property at 1960 Majestic Circle, 937 Broadway Blvd., 824 Broadway Blvd., 221 Ohio St., 1415 Ridge Ave., 4085 Stratford Blvd., 1345-1347 Ridge Ave., 1241 Ridge Ave., all for high grass.

Hit and run: Someone driving a red 1999 Dodge Ram struck a vehicle parked in the Cato lot then fled, Saturday. A witness provided the owner with the vehicle’s license plate number.

Booked: Robert Spera 40, 565 Allegheny St., Follansbee, was served with a bench warrant and also charged with possession of drugs, Monday. Spera also was cited for having no operator’s license.
