Steubenville police

Argument: A woman in the 2000 block of Alvaredo said she was attacked by a dog when she went to the basement to do her laundry, Sunday. She had a scratch on her arm and told police the dog had tried to bite her. Her boyfriend had been letting the dog and its owner stay in his basement since July. The woman said she was trying to gather her things to move out when his girlfriend threw a laundry basket at her, covering her in dirty clothes. She said each of them pushed each other and she also had a scratch.

Problematic: A Steubenville woman told police she’s getting harassing voice mails and text messages from a man known to her, Monday.

Dog walker: A woman walking her dog in Alexandria Manor said her pet was attacked by another dog running loose, Sunday. The dog was not injured.

Attacked: A woman in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue said her ex hit her during an argument, Monday. She said he also grabbed her around the neck, and police said they saw redness and a small bruise on her neck as well as as a cut on her forehead, another on the back of her right ear and a large bruise on her bicep. She said she grabbed her child and ran to a neighbor’s for help. She declined to pursue charges for fear of being evicted.

Theft: A Powell Avenue resident said a family member stole a virtual reality headset and pawned it for $60, Monday.

False alarm: A McDowell Avenue resident called 911 and hung up, Monday. Police located the caller, who was heavily intoxicated and unable to stay on his feet.

Bumped: An Empire resident who parked his vehicle next to a full-size white truck said the male behind the wheel bumped him when he pulled out, Monday. The Empire man said he was trying to get items out of his vehicle but couldn’t because of the other vehicle, telling police the man told him, “It’s your fault, you knew I was parked here when you pulled in.” He said he tried again to get the items out and accidentally bumped the other door of the other man’s truck. He said the other man opened his truck door into his, telling him, “How do you like it?” As he pulled out, he told police the other man nudged him with his truck.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to the owners of properties at 1303 Sinclair Ave., couch in front yard; 224 North St., garbage and debris.

Arrested: Angela M. Moses, 33, 2569 township Road 378, Steubenville, failure to appear, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and conveying, Monday. As Moses was being processed jail personnel allegedly located a burnt spoon with residue, a burnt crack pipe with chor and two large white rock-like items believed to be cocaine, police said.

Arrested: Christa L. Woytovich, 28, 1111 Claire Ave., Steubenville, petit theft, Sunday. Woytovich allegedly skip-scanned merchandise valued at $234 at Kroger, police said.

Cited: Vanity A. Gilbert, 21, 468 S. Sixth St., Steubenville, driving under suspension; Quayara Jett, 27, 1307 Jefferson St., Steubenville, driving under suspension; Thomas Shannon, 22 Opal Blvd., Steubenville, parking in a restricted area; Tavauntae Ware, 20, 1301 Belleview Blvd., Steubenville, driving under suspension and expired plates.
