Arrested: Charles B. Jarvis Jr., 52, 302 West Main St., Scio, failure to appear, Sunday.

Mingo Junction police

Arrested: Amber Watson, 40, 207 West Blvd., Mingo Junction, warrant for a probation violation, Thursday.

Toronto Police

Arrested: Justin Patterson, 21, 923 County Road 154, Rayland, operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to comply, driving under suspension and reckless operation, Sunday.

Steubenville police

Gassed: A man who called a female friend for a ride after he ran out of gas on Sunset Boulevard said she brought a male with her when she picked him up, Friday. He said pulled into a parking lot about a block away and her companion attacked him, choking him.

Pawned: A city resident told police she loaned her gaming system to a friend who decided to pawn it at Cashland, Friday.

Cornered: A woman in the 200 block of North Ninth Street said a cable wire got snagged on the back of a moving van and pulled from the telephone pole, Friday. She said the cable dinged her car as the truck passed, leaving black marks on the paint and damaging her grille before leaving the scene. Police located the driver, who said he was unaware anything had happened.

Sounds heard: Residents reported hearing shots fired on Railroad Avenue, Friday. Police couldn’t find evidence of any gun play, and individuals at the scene told police the callers had heard fireworks. Police told them to stop letting them off.

Watched: A man driving a black pickup truck hit a vehicle parked in the Manfred’s lot, denting it and scratching the paint, Friday. The pickup left the scene but the driver was identified, police said.

Shots fired: Police recovered five spent .40 caliber casings after callers reported hearing shots fired in the 300 block of Henry Avenue, Friday.

Buyer beware: A juvenile in the 400 block of North Street told police another youth stole $20 from him, Sunday. The juvenile said he got in the other juvenile’s car, handed him the money and got out of the car as instructed, then watched as the juvenile drove away.
