Arrested: Joshua H. Woodall, 25, Apartment 3, 120 Ardmore Road, Weirton, third-degree sexual abuse and domestic battery, Monday.

Steubenville police

Gun play: A man driving a silver Chevrolet with Louisiana plates sought out a city resident twice Monday, reportedly flashing a gun on at least one occasion. Callers reported hearing two men arguing in the 500 block of Franklin Street, with one of the men screaming, “Just shoot me.” Once on scene, police said they saw the other man get in the vehicle, which was parked in the middle of the road in the 900 block of Sixth Street, and drive away. Police said bystanders reported seeing the man in the vehicle point a gun at the other man earlier in the day in the vicinity of Pennsylvania Avenue and Carnegie Street.

Suspicious: A resident in the 800 block of Rosswell told police someone’s been dumping empty beer bottles in her yard for the past two weeks, Monday. The homeowner also reported that the window of a rental vehicle had been shattered.

Dispute: Two women in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue fought over a jacket, Monday. Police said one of the women involved said the other had given her a jacket some time ago and now wanted it back, but she doesn’t know where it is. Police said the woman who wanted the jacket back was extremely aggressive, continuing to curse and scream despite being told to calm down, and was cited for disorderly conduct.

Threatened: A resident in the 200 block of South Fourth Street said he was outside his residence when a man known to him began verbally abusing him and threatened to pick up a 2-by-4 and “split his head open,” Monday.

Complaint: A North Sixth Street resident complained his ex-girlfriend is accessing his phone remotely, Monday.

Flattened: Police said an unidentified driver failed to negotiate a turn in the 300 block of Lovers Lane and ran over a stop sign and struck a mailbox, Monday.

Noticed: Notices of violations were sent to the owner of a property at 1347 Wellesley, grass as well as litter. Officers said the spotted an unsecured garage being filled with trash and garbage that must be removed and the structure secured.

Reported: Several callers reported hearing what could have been shots fired, Monday. Upon investigating, police believe they heard fireworks.

Questionable use: A Toronto resident told police someone used her debit card to make nearly $40 in purchases at Kroger and another $24 for gas before making a $14 food run through Wendy’s, Monday.

Arrested: Joshua William Miles, 29, 215 Norris St., Steubenville, warrant for domestic violence, Monday.
