Steubenville police

Feuding families: Police had to break up a disagreement between families of two people set for trial in Steubenville Municipal Court, Monday. The families were bickering in the hall, forcing police to clear the building. Police monitored the hallway and parking lot until the hearing ended and all had left.

Dispute: A bald, white male in his mid-40s driving a brown Ford SUV was upset that another driver honked at him so while he was backing out of a parking space at Hollywood Plaza, Monday. The other driver said the man threatened him and threw a beer can at him.

Request: A woman on North Sixth Street tried unsuccessfully to get police to kick her husband out of their house after an argument, Monday.

Service: Weir Cove Taxi reported threats were made against a driver, Monday.

Turned on: A water department employee reported finding the water at a Welday Avenue residence had been turned back on after he’d turned it off for non-payment, Monday. The resident allegedly owed more than $1,300 when the water was turned off in July.

No vacancy: A Ridge Avenue resident returned home after several days away to find someone had taken up residence in his home, Monday. The resident reporting finding his furniture disheveled and his 60-inch TV missing.

Owner unoccupied: Someone took four handguns and two rifles from an Adams Street residence while the owner was hospitalized, Monday.

Grow up: Three adults got into a verbal dispute over a fight between children earlier in the day, Monday.

False alarm: Callers reported seeing a male dragging a female into an abandoned property in the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue, Monday. Police located the couple and the woman assured them everything was fine.

Out of control: A man screaming and yelling at vehicles in the 300 block of Adams Street turned his vitriol on police, Monday. When they arrived on scene, the responding officer said the man “began to swear and approach (him) in an aggressive manner.” The man was told to return to his residence and stay inside for the rest of the night.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to the owners of property at 1326 Oregon, 1332 Oregon and 1315 Oregon, grass.

Arrested: Hannah Finn, 25, 7187 township Road 263, Bergholz, possession of drugs and possession of drug instruments, Monday. Police allegedly found 20 needles, one of them used, as well as half a Buprenorphine pill in Finn’s vehicle.

Cited: William Renforth, 44, 211 Ohio St., Steubenville, driving under suspension and turn signal violation.

Jefferson County sheriff

Arrested: John Woodland, 32, 423 Marion Ave., Mansfield, failure to appear, Monday.

Arrested: Brock Teeter, 33, 3303 state Route 150, Dillonvale, domestic violence, Monday.

No means no: A Dillonvale resident was assaulted by a family member after refusing to give the individual, who was intoxicated, money, Monday. The man shoved the family member into an end table.

Anger issue: Someone shattered a window and slashed the tires of a vehicle parked on Mason Street in Amsterdam, Monday. A knife, knife sharpener and papers were taken from the vehicle, which had a West Virginia registration.

Charged: James Morgan, 42, 1304 Hukill St., Brilliant, theft and tampering with a water meter, Tuesday.

Arrested: Shenelle A. Carmalt, 37, Mount Pleasant, failure to appear, Monday.

Arrested: Denver E. Cooper III, 40, Clearwater, Fla., battery on an officer and obstructing, Monday.

Arrested: Kirby J. Alexander, 22, 226 Jones Lane, Wellsburg, driving under the influence, Sunday.

Arested: Shawna E. Roach, 40, 411 Main St., Follansbee, possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, Saturday.

Arrested: Seth A. Vargo, 21, 1900 Charles St., Wellsburg, telephone harassment, Thursday.

Arrested: Charles E. Oetker, 58, 109 Vine St., Follansbee, domestic violence and domestic assault, Thursday.

Arrested: Clarence A. Perrigan, 43, 107 Woodvue Lane, Follansbee, driving while license revoked for driving under the influence, Aug. 2.

Arrested: Ronald A. Tennant, 58, 3521 Genteel Ridge Road, Wellsburg, driving under the influence, July 29.
