Breaking and entering: Deputies responded to a call of a breaking-and-entering at a home in Mount Pleasant, Monday. The resident said a lock on the basement door had been pried off and the residence had been entered. The door to the home also had been pried open, according to the report. The resident said several items were missing, including a lawn mower, television, tools, household items and jewelry.

Arrested: Charles Moon, 55, 1304 Township Road 156, Rayland, possession of a drug abuse instrument, Tuesday.

Arrested: Edith Hoberek, 41, 626 Prospect Ave., Steubenville, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, Tuesday.

Obstruction: Police responded to a call of a man walking in the roadway on the 4100 block of Sunset Boulevard, Tuesday. The man advised police he was walking to the hospital then attempted to walk away from the patrol car, police said. Police said the man then fled on foot into a parking lot when asked to stop. Police said the man fell and was then apprehended. Jacob A. Ewan, 27, 238 Higler Ave., Wintersville, was issued a summons for obstructing official business.

Theft: Police responded to a call of a breaking-and-entering in the city, Tuesday. According to the report, a man removed an appliance from the home, got another individual to take him and the appliance to a third individual, to whom he sold the appliance. Police were able to recover the appliance from the buyer. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor.
