Arrested: Raphael O. Butler, 40, 401 Highland Ave., Steubenville, felonious assault, Friday. Butler allegedly struck an off-duty officer trying to break up a fight.

Arrested: Saalih Muhammad, 34, 315 Hill Ave., Steubenville, domestic violence, Friday.

Arrested: Rebecca Malizio, no age listed, 617 Grandview Ave. Rear, Steubenville, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, Friday.

Cited: Taylor R. Strauss, 19, 262 Hallock Ave., Mingo Junction, loud exhaust; John Diekmann, 69, 361 County Road 26, Steubenville, red light violation; Joshua A. Barnhart, 29, 132 Highland Hills, Apt. 5, Follansbee, intoxication, Friday.

Disturbance: Residents in the vicinity of the 1200 block of Maryland Avenue reported hearing shots fired Friday. Police believe alleged disturbance took place near the intersection of Pennsylvania and Carnegie streets. Investigation ongoing.

Theft: Oregon Avenue resident reported Christmas presents were stolen, Friday.

Jefferson County sheriff

Arrested: James Albert Stewart Jr., 34, 1588 State Route 43, Lot 27, Richmond, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and making a false alarm, Friday. Stewart allegedly told dispatchers his trailer was on fire.

Assaulted: A resident of Christopher Avenue, Island Creek Township, told deputies she was assaulted by an intoxicated individual known to her, Saturday. Subject allegedly held her down and shoved her against a vanity.
