WEIRTON — The Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization for Women Educators met at Eat ‘n Park in Weirton Nov. 6. President Susan Cullinan welcomed the 14 members present, leading them in the reciting of pledge. Wendy Speer provided a prayer and blessing before the meal. Secretary Ruth Fuller read the minutes from the October meeting. Treasurer Carolyn Allison gave the financial report.

Alpha Delta Kappa Month Chairman Shirley Washam celebrated the month by donating books to the Follansbee and Weirton libraries. The month was recognized on local marquees. Patty Ferris volunteered to take the role of altruism due to Margo Polk being unable to hold the position any longer. Volunteers noted their hours and monetary and non-monetary donations were announced. In the absence of Eileen Snyder, Speer and Fuller read the group’s correspondence.

Cullinan shared information regarding the Ohio Valley district luncheon, held Oct. 25 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wheeling. Those attending the meeting were Cullinan, Allison, Crystal Baranowski and Fuller.

Cullinan gave a cumulative report on the Fidelis Gamma Chapter for the 2024-25 year. Allison received a gift for having the longest membership. Fuller received a gift for traveling the farthest.

Allison shared she plans to become a pen pal with New Jersey chapter member. Cullinan donated a wreath to the Brooke County Library in Wellsburg toward an altruistic project. She completed two wreaths for the Tri-Chapter Christmas gathering. Ferris, Washam and Fuller will be in charge of door prizes during the event. Hostesses were Cullinan, Speer and Baranowski. The chapter will meet for its Tri-Chapter Christmas event at noon Dec. 6 at Nio’s Restaurant in Weirton. The next chapter meeting will be held March 5.
