Toronto Sunrise Seniors play various games, award prizes during May meeting
TORONTO — The Toronto Sunrise Seniors met May 23 at the Karaffa Recreation Center. Vice President Sandi Radvansky welcomed those in attendance.
Prior to the meal, which consisted of chicken and side dishes provided by members, Radvansky provided the blessing and Hank Sheets sold 50/50 tickets.
Following dinner, members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and thanked those serving on the kitchen committee, including Radvansky, Joe Radvansky and Mary Ellen Marion. Secretary Karen Martin read the minutes from the April 25 meeting, along with a summary from the mother/father banquet.
Treasurer Lynn Miller gave the financial report. Miller also took up a final collection for the flag fund. Social Secretary MaryAnn Landerfield announced those celebrating a birthday or anniversary in May.
Landerfield shared information she collected during the senior expo and announced Bea Lytle and Donna Farmer will assist her on June’s kitchen committee. Radvansky stated the bus trip to see “Sister Act,” on June 29 is full. She noted everyone planning to attend is “eagerly awaiting the show.”
The activity for the evening featured a a fly-fishing moose picture containing hidden objects within. Laura Sheets, Martin and Jackie Porter were the winners of the activity.
Kenny Emery and Mary Lou Deku were the winners of the 50/50 drawing.
The next meeting will be held Friday. Any Ohio resident 55 years of age or older is welcome to attend. Following adjournment, members enjoyed playing bingo. Winners for the evening were Dave Devore, Marlene Garrett, Louie Nelson, Ethel Stevens, Sheets, Betty Mossor, Nancy Bodrog, Estrella Hess, Marsha McConnell, Landerfield, Mary Jane Tottka, Emery, and Patty Losey.
