Library plans StoryWalk event and activities

LEARNING VENTRILOQUISM — Ava Dillon, 4, of Wintersville, was among those taking part in the Mr. Puppet ventriloquist show held Monday at the Schiappa Library. The performance was one of several activities being offered by the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County during its annual summer reading program. The Color Our World reading program began Monday and will continue through July 26. STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County is continuing its Color Our World Summer Reading Program, providing an array of events and activities for children, teenagers and adults at branches throughout the county.
The program began on Monday and will continue through July 26.
Upcoming events will feature a new StoryWalk being planned for 10 a.m. June 28 in Richmond Park.
While children are enjoying the StoryWalk, organizers will have dog treats available for those who walk their dogs at the park.
In addition, there will be an edible grab-and-go craft for residents of all ages, while supplies last.
The Knotty Pint Drink Truck will be on site selling mocktails to visitors and those who have already pre-registered to participate in the library’s Paint ‘n Sip in the Park activity, which is already at capacity, officials noted.

Mending Monday will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. June 23. Residents are encouraged to bring their projects to the library and receive guidance from officials and the free use of sewing machines and materials on site.
Adults: Book Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. June 25 to discuss “Muzzled,” by David Rosenfelt. Call to join.
Children: Join science heroes and turn science into an adventure at 12:30 p.m. June 23. This activity will include hands-on experiments and interactive stories. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Call to register.
Meet Esteban, the Green Crayon at 2:30 p.m. June 26. Those attending will hear stories about crayons and have their photo taken with Esteban. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Make a mandala magnet on June 26 at 5 p.m. Register to attend.
Children: Mom & Me Paint ‘n Sip will be on June 28 at noon. Register to attend this creative program that includes snacks.
