Brunch on the Farm set

DILLONVALE — The community is invited to experience a working farm during an upcoming Brunch on the Farm event, set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 19 at Harmon-Kithcart Farms, located at 12847 state Route 151 in Dillonvale.

Those attending will go on farm tours and see live demonstrations. Among the activities will be: A drone flights in action demonstration, seeing the living earth rainfall simulator, conservation to cultivation demonstrations and learning food for plants for growing crops in eastern Ohio and how conservation efforts are integrated into farming.

In addition to tours, families can participate in activities such as a haybale fort, corn pit and a kids zone designed for younger visitors.

Youth can interact with a petting zoo featuring young farm animals. Vendors will be on site with crafts, produce and information about small farm and homestead practices.

A fundraiser breakfast will be provided by the Purple Circle 4-H Club. There will be a food truck on site offering lunch options and a coffee bar.

The event is made possible by the Jefferson County Farm Bureau, Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District and Ohio State University Extension. Sponsors include Illumination Financial Group, D and J Sales and Service Inc., Ascent Resources, RSQ Print and Design LLC. and Jefferson Landmark Agricultural and Petroleum.

Murder mystery dinner theater set

STEUBENVILLE — Seven Ranges Entertainment will present a mobster-themed, interactive, murder-mystery dinner theater, hosted by 1Mobinc.com at 6:30 p.m. July 26 at Seven Ranges, located at the Fort Steuben Mall.

Tickets are on sale to see “Welcome to Little Chicago,” an interactive performance which features door prizes and prizes for best dressed, best detective and more, according to organizers.

Prices begin at $72.50. Tables for six or eight people can be reserved at the cost of $405 and $540, respectively.
