Upcoming events at library
STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming events and activities, including a new June StoryWalk book at Historic Beatty Park.
Residents are being asked to visit the park for a new StoryWalk book entitled “Monet’s Cat,” written by Lily Murray and Becky Cameron. The walk will begin on June 1. Once the book has been finished, children can visit the Main Library and receive a special prize.
The library is preparing for its third-annual Tiny Art event, scheduled to take place June 1-27. Beginning June 1, individuals can pick up an art kit at any library branch and create a mini-art piece. Once the project has been completed, return the artwork to your local library where it will be displayed, and receive a tiny award.
Adults are invited to attend the Deep Dive Book Club at the Main Library in Steubenville. The club will meet at 5:30 p.m. on June 3 and June 17 to discuss the book “Book Swap,” by Tessa Bickers. Call the library at (740) 282-9782 to join the discussion.
Get ready to run or walk during the upcoming 5K Color Run, sponsored by the Friends of the Library group. The event will begin at 10 a.m. June 7 at the Steubenville Marina. Registration will start at 8 a.m. All ages are welcome to get covered in colored powder. The activity is free to children 5 years of age and younger. Those between the ages of 5 and 10 will cost $10.
