WINTERSVILLE — Members of the GFWC Wintersville Woman’s Club met Thursday at St. Florian Hall.

Those in attendance heard from the afternoon’s guest speaker, Marti Leak of RSVP of Jefferson County.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is for area residents 55 and older interested in donating their time to assist the community.

The program is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation, Leak explained.

Volunteers serve with local nonprofits, schools and health institutions to meet the needs of neighbors and community residents.

RSVP of Jefferson County has many partner organizations, Leak informed club members.

Among the partners are the Ohio Valley Health Center, Salvation Army of Steubenville, Trinity Health System, United Way of Jefferson County, Urban Mission, Sycamore Youth Center, Mingo Junction Senior Center, Our Place of Jefferson County, Smithfield Food Pantry, Yorkville Food Pantry and East Garfield Elementary School.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering their time to help those at RSVP can contact Leak at (330) 424-7877 and select option No. 1.
