Preparing for used book sale

Hundreds of books were unloaded and placed on shelves at the Pulic Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County’s Main Library branch earlier this week. The books were brought in for the library’s 25-cent used book sale, scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m on Sunday. Volunteers from Steubenville High School’s Rotary Interact club assisted in unloading boxes of books from a truck. The event attracts more than 1,000 people, according to library officials, who noted attendees not only purchase books, but vinyl records, DVDs and video games as well, each for a quarter. The sale is being sponsored by the Friends of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County. Food trucks will be on site and a 50/50 drawing will be held. To gain early access to sale items, residents can join the Friends of PLSJ through e-mail at plsjfriends@gmail.com.
