Library announces activities

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced the upcoming activities and events for the week of May 18-24.

Children: Children between the ages of 5 and 10 will receive a blank book to begin writing their own story at 6 p.m. May 19. Register to attend.

Teens and Adults: The library’s new series of programs entitled EveryBody Care, will feature the program “Your Natural Cycle Explained,” at 6:30 p.m. May 19. Attendees will get to know their natural cycle and learn how to track their menstrual cycle, while understanding the changes that happen in the body. Free period products will be available to take home.

Adults: Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. May 19 to discuss the book “Be Frank With Me,” by Julia Johnson. Call to join the club.

Children: Play and Learn the Alphabet will take place at 11 a.m. May 20. The program is for children ages 2 to 6. Activities include playing with toys that promote alphabet knowledge.

Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch (740) 314-4310

Adults: Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. May 20 to discuss the book “Lane Oaks Crossing,” by Janet Dailey. This month, the club will hold its annual tea party. Call to join.

Make a Mother’s Day craft at 5:30 p.m. May 22. Call to attend.

The library will hold an Open Art Night from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 20. All ages and art abilities are invited to attend the event, where you can create at the library. Supplies will be provided. Stop in for a genuine experience of connection and expression. Open Art Night is sponsored in part by the Board of Developmental Disabilities and Jeffco Service Inc.

Web Wednesday will be offered from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 21 for those wanting one-on-one instruction time for the library’s apps and e-resources. Call to schedule an appointment and receive answers to questions regarding the Libby app and Hoopla Digital.

Adults: Fred Saluga will share artifacts and personal accounts of encounters with Bigfoot at 6 p.m. May 22. Register to learn more.
