Creek students offer free dinner to Mingo seniors

The Indian Creek National Honor Society served a homemade pasta dinner to more than 40 senior citizens in Mingo Junction Saturday. NHS President Marshal Houser’s idea evolved into a learning and service experience for all NHS members. Marshal made several gallons of homemade sauce and put together “an awesome crew of pasta makers.” Students made the pasta using more than 100 pounds of flour and several dozen eggs. The club partnered with St. Agnes Catholic Church, who helped sponsor the event inside the church hall. Those who supported the project included, the Rev. James Dunfee, Giuseppi DiGristina of Pastaio Cucina restaurant in Wintersville, St. Agnes Catholic Woman’s Club members, Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority members who provided the transportation, NHS adviser Julie Robinson and Michele Fabbro, who supplied the recipes.
