Master Gardeners to hold plant sale

WEIRTON — The Tri-State Area Master Gardeners will hold their annual spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the Gabe’s parking lot, located 211 Three Springs Drive in Weirton.

The event will bring together plant lovers, gardeners and community members from Brooke, Hancock, Jefferson and Columbiana counties, who can celebrate the joy of growing this spring.

Master Gardeners will have many different plants and garden items available for sale, including perennials, annuals, succulents, shrubs, cannas, vegetables, herbs and houseplants.

Attendees can obtain a 2025 Tri-State Area Master Gardener Association calendar, participate in a drawing and shop for Mother’s Day gifts, such as hanging baskets, officials announced.

“The plant sale is not only a great way to kick off your spring gardening, but it supports the important work our Master Gardeners do in the community,” said Zachary White, West Virginia University Extension agent for Hancock County. “Proceeds help fund educational programs, beautification projects and other outreach efforts that benefit our region.”

The Tri-State Area Master Gardeners serve as horticultural ambassadors through the WVU Extension, offering research-based knowledge and promoting sustainable gardening practices.

Their work spans across county lines, enriching lives and landscapes through volunteerism and stewardship.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just beginning to plant, the sale will be an opportunity to connect with experts, select quality plants and learn how to help your garden thrive.
