Members of Church Women United celebrated Friendship Day on May 2 at Oakland Presbyterian Church. There were 12 members and three guests participating in the meeting. Attendees represented six area churches. Sarah Hilditch, Victims Of Crime Act court advocate for the Lighthouse, accepted a donation of personal products from CWU members. The items will go toward helping women who are staying at the Lighthouse. A luncheon was provided by Oakland Presbyterian church women, who served those in attendance following the meeting. At right, participants included, from left, Helen Jeter, Summers, Ronda Krebs, Cathy Cooper and Turner. Members will hold their next meeting Aug. 1 at the Dunbar Center. No meetings will take place in June or July.
