Library announces upcoming activities and events
STEUBENVILLE — Officials with the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County have announced upcoming events and activities that have been scheduled at area branches for the week of April 13-19.

Residents can “tune in” to the library this year, as officials will be hosting a series of live music performances and biopic musical movies.
Those at the Main Library branch stated the community is invited to attend “Homeward Bound,” a tribute to Simon and Garfunkel being performed by Kent and Re at 1 p.m. April 19. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Teens: Pick up this grab-and-go bag containing materials to make spring flowers out of pipe cleaners, while at home. Bags can be picked up beginning April 14, while supplies last.
Adults: Take a tai chi class for free at the library. The program is being offered by a certified instructor at 10 a.m. on Thursdays. Attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Read “The Last Time I Lied,” by Riley Sager, for the Mystery Book Club that will meet at 2 p.m. on April 14. Call to join.
Children: Pick up a grab-and-go craft all about bugs. Bags will be available beginning April 16, while supplies last.

All ages: Everyone is welcome to attend an open art night, scheduled to take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 15. Attendees should bring an art project they are working on or use the library’s supplies to create something new. There are charcoal and colored pencils, fingerpaints, crayons and more that can be used by patrons of all artistic levels. The program is a partnership with the Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Children: Attend Play and Learn the Alphabet at 6 p.m. April 17 and at 10:30 a.m. on April 18. The program is for parents who have children between the ages of 2 and 6.
Teens: Cryptid Club’s grab-and-go craft can be picked up on April 16. Join us to make a craft and learn more about cryptid creatures.
