Dulci-More to present folk concert

SALEM — Dulci-More: Folk and Traditional Musicians, will host Charlie Mosbrook at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room of the Dale Shaffer Research Library of the Salem Historical Society, located at 239 S. Lundy Ave. in Salem.

The concert will follow from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m, with a song circle and jam session. All are welcome to participate. Attendees can bring their own acoustic folk instruments to join in, officials said. Parking will be available in the municipal lot. The building is handicapped accessible. Admission to this year’s spring and summer concert series will be free of charge.

Mosbrook uses his music as a vehicle to build a better world through programs such as Music to Life, Stop the Hate, monthly performances in local spinal cord injury units and charities events advocating for human rights and environmental action.

Mosbrook sustained a spinal cord injury, leaving him as a high-functioning quadriplegic in 2010. Following surgery and physical therapy, he set out to re-establish his music career with a new enthusiasm born out of his tragedy, officials stated. Since its founding in January 1993, Dulci-More has met twice a month to enjoy playing and singing. The group performs at festivals, fairs, schools, churches, clubs and nursing homes, among other places.

No advance tickets or reservations are needed for the concert series. Free refreshments will be available during intermission. Everyone is welcome to attend. For information or directions, contact Bill Schilling at (234) 564-3852 or bill@dulcimore.org, or online at dulcimore.org.
