Blankets to help their community

Buckeye North Elementary School’s Student Council shared some warmth with others, as members made blankets for patients at the Tony Teramana Cancer Center in Steubenville. Co-adviser Lucy Falls stated the group wanted to help people in need. Students decided to create the blankets and have them completed before their Easter break. Council also did a community service project based on a “Rock, Paper, Scissors” competition held at the school. Students raised $600 for the family of Bradyn White, an Adena youth and Indian Creek High School football player who recently died. Some of the group’s fifth-grade members include, from left, River Smitley, Eliana Kirkland, Caroline Frye and Eli Hundley.
