Four Season Senior Club meets

STEUBENVILLE — Members of the Four Seasons Senior Club met Feb. 18 at the Breakfast Club in Steubenville.

President Gene Viola called the monthly meeting to order.

It was noted the group alternates between holding its meetings in Weirton and Steubenville, with next month’s meeting to take place in Weirton.

Tony LaRosa provided the opening prayer. He then led those in attendance in the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of “God Bless America.”

Viola’s guest, Jerry Williams, was introduced to the audience.

Following introductions, club members participated in a couple of games of bingo. Officials announced everyone at the Breakfast Club enjoyed their time taking part in the games.

Bingo winners included Marilyn Izzi and Regina Truax, who each won two rounds.

Cecilia Findley, Nancy Ramsey and Barbara Gugliemo each won one game of bingo.

A 50/50 drawing took place, after which Ruth Masters was named the winner of the draw. Masters opted to donate $20 of her winnings back to the club.

There was no winner of the sign-in book, officials remarked, noting that the money will be carried over to next month’s sign-in.

Dinners were awarded as prizes during various other drawings, officials commented.

Winners included Findley, Joanne Llewllyn, Barbara Cerra and Joann Magnone.

Those who were the winners of the door prize included Rita Orler, Viola, Williams, Valerie Rowland and Kim Stempien.

There were no anniversaries for the club to celebrate; however, the group recognized the members in attendance who were celebrating a birthday in February. Members included Rowland and Janet Orler.

Additional prize winners were Mike Rowland, Pauline Tortis, Findley, Valerie Rowland, Jim Cerra and LaRosa.

The secretary’s report was given by Valerie Rowland.

The treasurer’s report was given by Josie Cekinovich.

A moment of silence was observed for club member Ron Fallert.

There was no old business to report; however, under new business, it was announced that Ramsey will be doing a bake sale of “chocolate-covered goodies” during the group’s April meeting.

The next meeting of the Four Seasons Senior Club will be held on March 29 at Giovanni’s Restaurant in Weirton.

LaRosa gave the closing prayer prior to the meeting being adjourned by Viola.
